Cool Halloween Costumes for Girls
Whether your little girl wants to dress like her favorite movie character or whether they want to be cutesy or scary there is a massive range of costume ideas to choose from.
1) Monster High
Inspired by the most popular monster movies such as Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster, Monster High dolls depict what the offspring of these popular movie icons would look like. They've become very popular and not only are they dolls but they also make the perfect Halloween costume so your girl can dress up as her favorite Monster High character.
All the characters are there for your pleasure from Frankie Stein the offspring of Frankenstein and his Bride, Draculaura (Dracula's daughter), Cleo de Nile the Mummy's daughter and of course Lagoona Blue the daughter of a Sea Monster and Ocean Nymph.
Halloween is all about monsters and these dolls create the perfect mix of teenage fashion and traditional monsters. Many retailers stock these costumes but for a bit of fun why not try to make your own.
Here's a great selection of Monster High costumes from Buy Costumes.
2) Harry Potter - Hermione
No list would be complete without Hermione from the Harry Potter films and I'm sure most young boys would have a bit of a crush on her as well. The most popular rendition of the Hermione costume is while she is wearing her Gryffindor robe with crest included. And with that long brown hair of hers you may need a wig to complete the look. Don't forget that other essential accessory the wand.
3) Princesses
My little girls (and I've got four of 'em) never tire of dressing up as princesses. Their favorites are the ones from the Disney films and we have most of the costumes to prove it. There are so many to choose from and so many ways to accessorize that you will have no trouble making your little girl stand out and be unique. Another idea is to take your average princess gown and crown and make something truly of your own design.
4) Toy Story's Jessie
My two littlest ones absolutely adore the Jessie character from the Toy Story movies. Wherever they are in the house you can be sure that their Jessie doll is not far away. It's no surprise that this is a very popular character for little girls to want to dress up as at Halloween. Jessie is the charismatic cowgirl introduced in the second film who makes up part of the Woodie's Round Up gang. Her look is created from cow print chaps, white shirt with yellow details and the traditional cowgirl hat. A red braided wig will finish off the look just nicely.
5) Witch
The old staple the witches costume will probably be in every top 5 list. Usually a witch costume is made from a long black dress with a pointy hat and possibly a warty stick on nose. You don't have to go the traditional route though as there are many classy witches you that your little girl could dress up as.
Disney can come to the rescue with this as well. The evil stepmother from Snow
White comes to mind as a witch with a bit of a difference and some dress sense. Or how about Cruella from 101 Dalmations who has that iconic black and white hair.
